It's the Little Things In Life

Like the opportunity to venture down to an area of the house yet to be explored.

He has this reaction anytime we open the basement door. If he is playing he will stop and beeline to the door hoping for a chance to go down to the magical place that is our dingy old basement.

Super Bowl XLIV

Last year Kylee was visiting during the Super Bowl. We didn't watch any of it because we were putting the finishing touches on Ryder's nursery. This year Ryder is staying up late to enjoy the game with us (at least a little of it). Oh what a year!
Then he got tired of the game, so daddy made him load the dishwasher.

After his "chores" he showed us a trick we didn't know that he knew.

TOUCHDOWN!

Meet Lenny

He is the world's only life size chocolate moose, and he lives right by us. Who knew?

It's Fun to Swim at the YMCA

We just got a Y membership, so we decided to hit up the open swim today. Ryder did fine. I would say he was neither here nor there about being in the water. He LOVED watching all the other kids swimming though.

Fifteen Weeks

I thought it was high time for #2 to make his or her blog debut.

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although hereyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl!

My Rookie Mom Mistake

Awwwww......look at my cute little boy shaking the pasta.

It's all fun and games until somebody opens the box and spills the ziti all over the floor. Next time I need to make sure he shakes the unopened box.

Kisses

Of all the new things Ryder has learned my favorite, hands down, is giving kisses. If I'm down on the floor playing with him, he will just pull himself up on me and plant a big open mouth, slobbery kiss on my cheek. But don't expect a kiss for nothing. No siree, he doles his smooches out on his own terms. He knows just how to work us, but it's worth it.

Mall Walking

Tonight we headed to the mall to get out of the house.

One of the Joys of Parenthood

Using your son as a guitar. I promise this is not a staged photo. I was able to quickly grab the camera and sneak a pic during this father/ son rock moment.

GO COLTS!

It's Not All Rainbows and Butterflies Around Here

Most the posts from this blog show a smiley, happy baby. That's just because that is the fun stuff to post. We get our fair share of tears, spit up and dirty diapers. So here's a little glimpse into the not so pretty from our day today...
