I'm going to do my best to post once a month. Keep checking back.

The Excavation

Ryder has been having lots of fun watching all the work going on outside our house.
I thought this shirt was only appropriate.

Mind If I Borrow the Car, Mom?

We were kicked out of our house today due to the Bubbling Brook (see previous post), so I had to be creative with our activities. Of everything we did, I am pretty sure this was Ryder's favorite thing. His joy was almost worth the huge fit he threw when I had to put him in his carseat. Almost.

The Little Stinker

Ryder was trying to imitate me whistling. However, as soon as I pulled out the camera this is what he did.

Really, Really Random

It just keeps getting harder and harder to get a good photo of Ryder. He's always on the move. I keep waiting for the perfect picture to post on the blog. I just can't seem to capture it. Rather than keep you all waiting for the perfect picture, here are some random not that great pictures from our days.
The Biscuits due date on my ketchup lid. :)
Ryder is going through this terrible phase where he hates to hold still for his diaper changes. One thing that has really entertained him are his birthday cards. I ask him which one he wants and he points to one to read while I change him. I guess it's a one year old's version of a magazine in the bathroom.
The other day I got home from the store and the grocery bags were all scattered on the floor. Ryder was in heaven rummaging through them all. After about five minutes I noticed that he had actually chewed through the peel of the avocado and was eating the inside. Sneaky, sneaky.
I seriously couldn't find my shoe the other day only to find that Ryder had hidden it in the bottle drawer.
He was making the cutest face for this picture then right when I took it a big gust of wind came and made him chuckle.

Splish Splash I Was Takin' a Bath

Since we only have one bath, and it is the bath that Brandon and I shower in we have always just given Ryder his baths in his own little bath. It gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about all the germs on the bottom of our tub. But when Aunt Kylee sent some new bath toys for Ryder's first bday we thoroughly cleaned the tub, so Ryder could enjoy them to their fullest. Enjoy them he did.

Excuses Are Like Noses

I know. I know. But seriously, this is what I get after a thirty minutes of letting Ryder roam around like a mad man in the kitchen while I sat at the kitchen table blabbing away to a friend. To all those that I love but have severely neglected to call or answer your calls here is why in pictures.
A few of his feats in a mere thirty minutes...
Pulled all the cushions off the chairs
Climbed over the bars to land face first in the pillows he had just pulled off
Attempted climbing up the slide
Pushed every movable object in the kitchen until it would no longer move
Pulled every single letter magnet that he could reach off the fridge
Banged every object he could find making it at times impossible to hear

Please forgive me for the serious phone neglect, but I hope you at least understand a little better why.

I get it from my Grammy.

One Year Check Up and 24 Week Check Up

I got to hear the Biscuit's heartbeat today. It was amazing like always. Everything is looking good with him. Then Ryder had his one year check up also. All is well with him too. Then we went home and enjoyed the 77 degree weather. I could get used to this. Let's hope it stays.

Family of Four

It's hard work

transitioning to one nap a day. Sometimes you just have to catch a snooze when and where you can.

Happy Easter

I couldn't have planned a more perfect day. We had such a nice time with our friends, the Pfaffs, eating good food and hanging outside. Ryder also looked adorable. (Thanks to the Grube family for the darling outfit) He literally played all afternoon. I don't think he stopped moving from about 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. He loves to crawl all over outside and get really dirty.

Spring Has Sprung

We are in the midst of a gorgeous weekend. Oh how I needed this. We've been spending as much time outside as possible. Ryder has now discovered that the front door is much, much cooler than the basement. And it's even cooler when you get to play with a sweet hand-me-down toy for the first time. You just can't help but shake with excitement.

Gaining Courage

He did this for about five minutes this morning. I think he just liked all the praise he was getting. He was hooting and hollering for himself very loudly.
